Ohio real estate license requirements
The requirements for all applicants in Ohio include:
- being at least 18 years of age
- being honest, truthful and of good reputation.
- If an applicant has ever been convicted of a felony or crime of moral turpitude, or adjudged by a court to have violated any civil rights laws regarding real estate within the past two years, the application will probably be denied unless the Superintendent of the Division of Real Estate can be satisfied that the violation will not occur again.
- All applicants must successfully pass both parts of the real estate exams and apply for their license within one year of passing their initial exam.
The requirements for a real estate salesperson license in Ohio include:
- Having a high school diploma or GED if born after 1950.
- All salesperson applicants need to be sponsored by an Ohio Broker.
Continuing Education
- 30 hours of Continuing Education must be completed by all Broker and Sales licensees every three years in order to retain a real estate license.
- As a part of the 30 hours, licensees must complete 9 hours of Core courses in the following subjects. See our course offerings below.
