Creating agency relationships is at the very core of your role as a real estate professional. A complete understanding of how Ohio views agency is critical to ensure clients are being properly served and you remain in compliance. Authored by industry veterans, this course explores both the duties and responsibilities of a listing and buyer`s agent as defined by Ohio law as well as the proper way to waive specific duties. The course continues with conversation and practical examples regarding these various relationships, including the forms and processes to create, disclose and terminate. The role of the dual agent continues to be a topic with many questions and potential pitfalls. The course includes a refresher of the proper role of the dual agent, required documentation for disclosure and practical advice for avoiding the inherent conflicts that may arise. The course wraps up reviewing SB 106 and how it has affected dual agency in Ohio as well as the rules and requirements for two agents working within the same brokerage on both sides of a single transaction.
